Test & validation · Instrument integrationAcquire, process, store, and present the data your team needs. Connect sensors, instruments, and analysis into a coherent application.
DAQ · Signal processing · Data workflowsLabVIEW Real-Time and FPGA software for systems that interact with the physical world, from process control to high-speed inspection.
Real-Time · FPGA · Hardware integrationFind the cause of unreliable behavior, untangle an existing codebase, or establish an architecture that can grow with your requirements.

Discuss trainingExamples from Robert’s engineering career, including work before Auvent’s current practice.
Developed high-speed LabVIEW video and image analysis for production inspection, bringing software and physical processes together at line speed.
Engineering experience on a tracer-evaluation system combining real-time computers, GigE Vision, SQL, and HTML reporting.
Developed chemical pilot-plant control and residual-gas analysis software, including PID control and integration with physical instrumentation.
Robert brings more than 13 years of engineering support at Dugway Proving Ground, spanning test environments, monitoring, controls, and field applications.
That work has included co-developing reusable API architecture and training on-site personnel. Auvent continues this focus on practical software engineering and customer capability.
Discuss a government requirementGood software starts with understanding what the system must do—and ends with people who can use and maintain it.
Start with the hardware, the users, and the decisions the data needs to support. Clarify scope, constraints, and what successful operation looks like.
Choose the structure around the requirements. Diagnose the existing system, address the highest-risk assumptions, and develop in reviewable increments.
Review behavior against the requirements and incorporate field feedback. Make the code understandable and give your team the knowledge to work with it.
Technical depth to solve the problem.
Business judgment to know which problem matters.
Auvent is Robert Mortensen’s engineering consulting practice: hands-on technical work informed by experience leading an engineering business.
Robert founded Endigit in 2011 and grew it to approximately 15 employees at its peak. Alongside engineering, he led customer relationships, project delivery, hiring, and business operations. He later served as Vice President of Operations at Testeract.
That experience shapes Auvent’s work: understand the customer’s purpose, make sensible technical tradeoffs, communicate clearly, and build systems other people can work with.
Robert’s leadership experience spans the full business, from technical delivery to commercial and financial decisions.
A note on the company’s history. Endigit’s operating assets and name were sold in 2022. The original corporation continued as Auvent, Inc. The Endigit team size above describes Robert’s historical leadership experience.
Tell Robert what you’re measuring or controlling, what’s getting in the way, and what a successful result would look like.
